History of Black Detroit

Learn about the history of black Detroit from local historian Stewart McMillian. He will lead a lively discussion and a slide show about Black Bottom, Paradise Valley, Elmwood Cemetary, historic black churches, Underground Railroad sites and Dr. Ossian Sweet.
Learn more about the Great Michigan Read, which invites Michiganians to read and participate in events about Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age by Detroit native Kevin Boyle.
