An Uncommon Criminal: The Extraordinary Life of Edwin Turner Osbaldeston is a biography of a man who spent his life living assorted lies and who got away with way more than any dishonest person ever should. Edwin saw much of the world, associated with leading figures of his day and at times accumulated considerable wealth. Depending on the time and place, he was known as doctor, professor or dashing war hero. Inevitably, his pretensions, criminal activities and impulsive excesses would catch up with him. In response, he would move his action to a new locale and repeat the same pattern. He truly had an extraordinary life filled with world travel, reinvention and an incredible amount of newspaper coverage.
History, writing and politics have been long-time interests of Kenson Siver. He has authored three Southfield histories; Southfield Faces the Crucial Decades, A Brief History of Southfield and Southfield: The History of Our City in its 50th Year. He served on the Southfield City Council from 2001 to 2015. In November 2015, he was sworn in as the sixth mayor of Southfield.
